This is a great secret to answers
to prayer!
Every prayer answered brings glory,
but the question is to whom?
The answer to who is glorified when a prayer is answered goes a long way to
define how quick our prayers are answered by God.
As stated above, each time someone receives
a gift / answer to a request, someone is glorified among these three as
explained below;
- Man : In Matt 6:2
2 Therefore, when you do a
charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the
synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men (NKJV)
- Satan Matt 4:8-9
Again, the devil took Him up on an
exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and
their glory. 9 And he said to Him, "All these things I will give
You if You will fall down and worship
me. (NKJV)
- God: In John 12:28, Jesus prayed and said
28 Father, glorify your name."Then a voice came from
heaven, saying, "I have both glorified it and will glorify it again."NKJV
In John 14:13,Jesus Christ also said
13 And whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father
may be glorified in the Son.
NKJV
It is important to understand that God created us for His will.
That’s’ why He also stated in Isaiah Isa 43:25
25 "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions
for my own sake; And I will not remember your sins. NKJV
Hence, if we are praying to meet
our wants/satisfactions, without putting God’s glory in the picture we miss it!
In Luke 17:17-18
17 So Jesus answered and said,
"Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" NKJV
In Matt 6:13, Jesus said concerning the Father; For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory
forever. Amen. NKJV
Glory belongs to God and He will share it with no man or
anything.
Wonder why,
Sometimes we encounter disappointments from men or places
that we were so sure of their promises?
It simply because we knowingly or unknowingly put our
trust/hope on them and God seeing the glory will go to them not Him, He will
shut down that sources until we have no option than look up and cry to Him,
placing our prayers and intents/motives well !!
In James 4:2-3, it is written thus, 3 You ask and do not
receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. NKJV so,
since it’s not for the glory of God, the Lord will not answer.'
The Lord hears every
prayer of the righteous but based on motives/intents He answer not all.
Hannah, mother of Samuel got this revelation and keyed into
it and it worked for her. Before then, she had been going to Shiloh, praying
and crying but without God’s interest, hence no answer!
But once she put God in, she got her prayers answered. 1Sam10-11;
20
Next time,
Before you pray, tell God what He stands to gain if your
prayer is answered, some call it covenant prayer! Let Him know His interest.
No wonder David, prayed that God should arise and defend His
interest in the situation before Him. And God seeing His interest rose and
answered Him, because He had interest in that situation.
I pray for you that the Almighty God from today grant you
instant answer to your long awaited prayers as you pray right in the mighty
name of Jesus Christ!
