The book of Ezra talks about
rebuilding the altar/temple of God.Verse4 down, talks about a certain people
who rose against it but failed. I know ONE thing that God hears your
prayers/cries and He answers!
Let us briefly look at the
story and how it applies to you and me; for there is for SURE a purpose while
The God of Purpose, The Almighty God gave us this place today.
Considering Chapter 4 of
the same Ezra, our text;
Ezra 4:1-5
Now when the adversaries
of Judah and Benjamin heard that the descendants of the captivity were building
the temple of the LORD God of Israel, 2 they came to Zerubbabel and the heads
of the fathers' houses, and said to them, "Let us build with you, for we
seek your God as you do; and we have sacrificed to Him since the days of
Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us here." 3 But Zerubbabel and
Jeshua and the rest of the heads of the fathers' houses of Israel said to
them,"You may do nothing with us to build a house for our God; but we
alone will build to the LORD God of Israel, as King Cyrus the king of Persia
has commanded us." 4 Then the people of the land tried to discourage the
people of Judah. They troubled them in building, 5 and hired counselors against
them to frustrate their purpose all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even
until the reign of Darius king of Persia. NKJV
POINT1:
When the adversaries of
Judah and Benjamin heard that the descendants of the captivity were building
the temple of the LORD God of Israel, 2 they came to Zerubbabel and the heads
of the fathers' houses, and said to them, "Let us build with you.
If, I may ask, where were
these adversaries before? Why didn’t they initiate the re building before?Now,because
they were not allowed, of course the spirit of God knows their intent which is like that of their father, the devil according
to John 10:10 is to destroy!
THINK ABOUT THIS:
Have you ever been in a situation
where you had been struggling, praying, fasting and crying to God and when He
has answered you and placed you in a certain position; suddenly someone or a
group of person will come telling you that they CAN MAKE YOU GREAT, they will
give you contact/contracts. That you should just be their friends, join their club,
and so on? The offers are often too good looking, that we often forget the one
that brought us to that height in the first place. I believe you understand
what am talking about. Next time you see yourself in such situation or someone
meets you on counselling for such, the simple question is, “where were they
before?”
POINT 2:
Then the people of the
land tried to discourage the people of Judah. They troubled them in building,
Most sometimes, when we
reject the offer of these adversaries in our place of work, ministry and so on,
their next move is to try and destroy us. Joseph and Portiphar’s wife in the
house of Portiphar is a good example
Like in our text, these
adversaries will go about doing anything to frustrate our efforts, to
discourage us. They will raise accusations against us! They will send evil
reports and write ups against us.
But here is the good news;
Ezra 6:8-10
8 Moreover I issue a
decree as to what you shall do for the elders of these Jews, for the building
of this house of God: Let the cost be paid at the king's expense from taxes on
the region beyond the River; this is to be given immediately to these men, so
that they are not hindered. 9 And whatever they need — young bulls, rams, and
lambs for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil,
according to the request of the priests who are in Jerusalem — let it be given
them day by day without fail, 10 that they may offer sacrifices of sweet aroma
to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and his sons. NKJV
Beloved reader, the
Almighty God Himself is saying that all you need to come out victorious, all
you need to be saved and back to our Lord Jesus Christ, all you need to come
out of that situation a success ,all you need to prospers, all you need to be fruitful,
all you need to excel in every area of life, THAT HE WILL BEAR THE COST ! THAT
NOTHING WILL HINDER IT,THAT HE THE GOD OF HAVEN WILL POUR SUCH AND SUCH UPON YOU,
in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST.
Beloved I rejoice with you
!!
Finally, in Ezra 6:11-12
11 Also I issue a decree
that whoever alters this edict let a timber be pulled from his house and
erected, and let him be hanged on it; and let his house be made a refuse heap
because of this. 12 And may the God who causes His name to dwell there destroy
any king or people who put their hand to alter it, or to destroy this house of
God which is in Jerusalem. I Darius issue a decree; let it be done diligently. NKJV
I said, am so happy for
you my beloved reader! I love our God!
Look at what the Lord is saying,
“My child, after I have bore the cost and caused you to prosper, I am also
making a decree that any man/woman/boy/girl, forces of darkness, agents of
satan, demons, devils, evil powers that
will dare to think of altering my words concerning you, SUCH,I WILL DESTROY”.
And so, it is and will ever be in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I pray for you in the name
that is above all names; any evil counsellor frustrating/accusing your prayers,
your blessings, your testimonies, be destroyed NOW in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
Every evil report/writing against any area of your
life be terminated! Be destroyed! Be cancelled with the blood of Jesus Christ.
My Father in heaven is NOT a wicked God that will cause to deliver and shut the
womb!
